We were recently invited to style some spaces for Mor Furniture’s Designer Series, using their pieces to design a bedroom and a living room. In Part One, we styled a dining room and living area — check out Part One of our Mor Furniture design collab if you missed it. We adore how these new spaces turned out, and can’t wait to share how this Mor Furniture room reveal came together.
The short answer
In Part Two of our Mor Furniture Designer Series collab, we styled a bold, music-inspired living room around the Petrillo sofa and an airy boho bedroom around the Duo Linen bed. In both, neutral furniture lets the rug and accessories carry the color.
Living Room Makeover with Mor Furniture
The starting point for this space was Mor Furniture’s Petrillo 3 Power Sofa in Gray. We decided to go bold this time with a Mor Furniture living room makeover that leans masculine and musical. Not our usual California Coastal style, but changing things up felt right.

Key Furniture & Accessories
We used standout Mor Furniture pieces like the Trailbend Accent Table and Paradox Coffee Table. Then we added texture with a cowhide rug, open bookshelves, and vibrant pops of color. Musical accessories and plants brought energy and personality into the room.
From CB2 we pulled in:
- Tatum Marble Picture Frames
- Asha Taper Holders (similar alternatives from Anthropologie)
- Neat Smoke Double Old Fashioned Glasses
- Polished Nickel Recipe Box
- Deep Blue Acrylic Bookends
- Degodd Silver Cocktail Shaker
- Black Marble Globe
From our Salt + Citrus Home collection: bright throw blankets and a cowhide rug.
Styling Tips from Our Mor Furniture Decor Transformation
- Neutral furniture lets accessories shine
Because the sofa and major furniture are neutral, we could layer in yellow throws, bold art, and statement shelves without the space feeling overwhelming. - Warm with natural pieces
Wood details, greenery, and softer textures balance sleek modern furniture and give the room warmth. - Ground with area rugs
A good rug anchors the furniture, helps unify the feel of the room, and creates cozy zones.
Bedroom Styling with Mor Furniture
For the bedroom, we shifted to a bedroom styling with Mor Furniture that brings in airy, boho chic vibes for a restful retreat.

Furniture Selections & Palette
We started with Mor Furniture’s Duo Linen Adjustable Foundation Bed in Gray, paired it with their Melbourne Nightstand and Melbourne Dresser in Brown, and layered with a Sonoma Rug in Ivory & Blue.
We kept the furniture neutral so we could choose a vibrant rug and make it our color anchor. Blues, reds, and corals from the rug shaped the rest of the accessory colors.

Final Touches & Styling Tips
- Use textured natural accessories like fans, baskets, and woven items for a relaxing boho feel.
- Pick wall art and tabletop decor that pull colors from the rug or main furniture piece so the design feels intentional.
- For bedrooms, less is more. We minimized visual noise with subdued accents so the space feels calming.

From challenge to solution
Different rooms call for different moods. Here is how we gave two spaces opposite personalities from the same catalog.
01 · THE CHALLENGE
Two moods from one catalog
The living room needed energy and personality, while the bedroom had to feel restful, both styled from Mor Furniture’s neutral collection.
02 · OUR APPROACH
Neutral furniture, expressive layers
We kept the major pieces neutral, then let a cowhide rug, bold art and musical accents energize the living room, and a blue-and-coral Sonoma rug guide the bedroom palette.
03 · THE RESULT
A lively living room and a calm retreat
Two cohesive rooms that show how color, texture and accessories can transform a space without changing a single wall.
