in 2019, our founder Ariel moved to San Diego with her husband. But the excitement of the move was overshadowed by the fact that they couldn’t settle into their own space.
After purchasing their home, they first spent 75 days in a hotel while the inside of the house was being remodeled. They completely demoed the interior and the concrete slab was ripped up to fix the rotting plumbing under the house.
They needed to move into their new home after just one bathroom was complete—right in the middle of the renovation.
Instead of being able to decorate and put the finishing touches on their new home, they had to manage a total renovation, all while getting settling into a new city. They decided to gut the inside of the house and change it from a 2 Bedroom/2 Bath into a 3 Bedroom/2 Bath and reconfigure the layout of the home to be more functional.
Overall, the house had some major issues from decaying plumbing under the house and outdated electrical, to single pane windows and an ancient HVAC system, and the list still goes on. Before moving in, Ariel’s hubby Robert used an electric sprayer to paint the whole inside of the house the color Lace Veil from Dunn Edwards. Ariel with the help of her in laws installed wall-to-wall Shaw LVT flooring.

Ready to move in with no kitchen and one working bathroom, they had their work cut out for them in finishing the renovation. But like the experienced pro that she is, Ariel dove into the project head on. After hiring (and then firing) their first contractor, they assembled a new A-team.
Finally after months of work, the bones of their brand new home were finally complete. They had new windows and doors, the addition of a new bedroom, and a sexy white paint color to set the stage. Ariel and her hubby ended up with the perfect blank, three-bedroom, 2-bathroom canvas to bring their dream home to life.
