Natural Wood Wall Texture

Almost any natural material you choose will last you a lifetime! When you make the investment to choose natural materials, they won't be breaking down in just two to three years. These babies are sticking around for the long haul!

compliment Your Current Aesthetic

When you’re working with natural materials, they are so great at complementing and pairing with any interior design style. They blend in perfectly, and most of the time, they make your aesthetic come to life even more!

Bring In All The Natural Elements

When you bring in stone and wood, you bring in all of those beautiful, textural natural elements. They are excellent at transforming a lifeless space into a vibrant one, adding life to any area of your home. Pair with some green plants for an added boost of liveliness!

let’s start with Natural Wood Wall Design

Okay, we’re starting out with one of our faves. (We’re totally kidding, they are all our faves!) Natural wood wall design is a great way to bring those earthy elements we talked about above into your home. The color, along with the texture and even all the imperfections, makes it a ‘wow’ moment in any home.

next up, Natural Stone Wall Design

Okay, so we know we totally gushed about natural wood, but this stone — has anything ever been more gorgeous?

We love stone because it will never go out of style. Girl, we’ve seen so many trends come and go, but a stone fireplace or stone wall will always look incredible. In addition to being a stunning centerpiece for your home, adding a stone wall or feature raises its market value. It’s a win-win!

now let’s talk Rustic Wood and Stone Focal Point

We’ve talked about wood, and we’ve talked about our love for stone. But what about meshing the two together? Ugh, just look at them (yes, we are in love).

Blending these two natural materials together does a few things. First, the natural coloring of the wood softens out the stone, which can often be quite harsh and rigid.

Second, when you're looking at these materials from a color and tonal perspective, they work perfectly together. Stone is cold and known as a cool-toned material, whereas wood is known as a warm-toned material. Pulling these two together brings so much harmony into a space.

Stacked Stones Wall

Who doesn’t love a stacked stone wall? These beauties bring out the best in any interior space. They can be used indoors or outdoors and give us that texture we dream of. It's almost like tactile wallpaper, how cool is that!?

Stacked stone walls are perfect in any room of your home, but our personal fave is using them in the bathroom. Stone can make you feel like you’re in your own personal spa. What a dream!

Reclaimed Barnwood & Stone Accent

Moving on to the reclaimed style, which is just to die for! Using reclaimed anything is a fantastic way to be sustainable, but it also adds so much character to whatever space it’s brought into. Reclaimed barn wood and stone accents are a match made in heaven. They bring in the earthiness of the wood, but they’re also complimented by the structure of the stone. We’re obsessed.

Reclaimed Brick

We have just one thing to say about reclaimed brick. We love it! It’s absolutely stunning and works so beautifully with any style of home or aesthetic. (Okay, so we have more than one thing to say about it!)

The great thing about it is that it can be used with any interior style. If you want to go for a boho theme, it works great. If you’re looking for something more contemporary, it works well with that, too! Perfect with any style!

Insider Tip!

If you’re looking to do brick on a budget, then opt for something like Thin Bricks! They’re basically like the real thing, but cut in half, which cuts down on costs — but we promise you no one will ever know!

Dry Stacked Stones for Interior Walls

Dry stacked stone walls are incredible in interior spaces. They bring rustic charm but still keep that modern vibe that we all love. Using dry stacked stone for cladding can take your breath away.

The color combinations that shine through the stone are amazing, and when you match this with all the neutral tones and textures, we promise you’ll fall in love!

How Else Can I Incorporate Natural Elements Into My Home?

We understand if you're not entirely convinced that including a full stone wall to your house is a good idea. Natural walls and designs can be a big commitment, so you want to make sure you’re 100% in love with your design before committing.

So, if you’re still wanting to bring in those natural elements but on the DL, then here are a few of our suggestions.

Go For A Cowhide Rug

A cowhide screams natural and rustic and will blend with almost any color palette you’re working towards. We’re obsessed with them because of their awkward shape, and we like using them to design an entryway. We promise you’ll thank us later.

Think Neutral Tones

If you want a natural look and feel to your home, stick with a neutral and natural color palette. Think of colors like beiges, light browns and creams. Or go for something a little bolder and move towards your browns, olive and forest greens for those richer tones.

Add In Texture

For this tip, you’ll definitely want to visit Salt + Citrus home. Adding in texture is a great way to keep with that natural, earthy feeling. We’re obsessed with our striped black and natural woven wall art plate. They’re contemporary, natural, and all around just an absolutely stunning addition to any wall!

FAQs

With all these talks about natural materials, we know that we can sometimes get ahead of ourselves, so we’re taking a moment to pause and answer a few frequently asked questions that we know might be running through your head.

How do I know what stone is best for my interior?

The answer to this totally depends on what you’re looking for and what area of the home you want your stone, wood or brick for. We love Cle Tile and Modern Builders Supply  that deals with all things stone and can give you that extra helping hand you need when you’re in the first stages.

What is the best way to buy stone, wood, or brick?

When purchasing any materials, you of course want to get a sample, take it home, and see what it looks like against other materials. For any natural materials, this is a must! You can go and see the product in person, where you can see it, touch it and feel if it’s the texture you’re looking to bring into your home.

I’m worried about the budget. is a natural material a good choice?

We totally get that budget is a concern. The great thing about natural materials is that they come in various budgets to suit. Your final cost will also depend on the quality of the material and who you choose to help install it. So while it can be costly, it can definitely be done on a budget.
