A serene palette, clean architectural lines, and elevated materials create a calming, spa-like experience for patients, while thoughtful detailing and a highly efficient layout ensure the space supports the clinical team with ease and precision.

Smiles by Pai embodies the perfect balance of elegance and comfort—delivering a welcoming, luxurious environment that feels both professional and effortlessly inviting in every corner.

Smiles by Pai began with a clear vision: transform a compact 600-square-foot suite into a modern dental studio that feels more like a med spa than a clinical office. The goal was to create a serene, elevated environment that offers patients a sense of calm the moment they arrive. Every design decision—from palette to layout—supports this intention.

The space had not been updated in over 20 years, so a full gut renovation was essential. Every surface, wall, and finish was removed to rebuild the studio from the ground up. This allowed us to reallocate square footage strategically, ensuring each designated area feels luxurious despite the compact footprint. The new layout was carefully planned to support optimal flow for dental equipment, provider efficiency, and patient ease—creating a space that feels both modern and highly functional.

PROJECT DETAILS

To make the office feel open and airy, we employed a thoughtful mix of visual and architectural strategies. Clean lines, soft neutral tones, and layered textures add depth without creating clutter. Integrated storage keeps surfaces tidy, while carefully designed lighting brightens the space and enhances the sense of openness. Frosted glass partitions, light finishes, and continuous flooring unify the layout, minimizing visual interruptions and creating a seamless, spacious environment.

The material palette draws inspiration from Del Mar’s serene coastal environment. Natural woods, warm stone, and muted tones evoke a sense of tranquility.

Soft textures and refined finishes add subtle luxury without overpowering the intimate footprint. Every element was selected to contribute to a calming, spa-like experience for patients.

At Smiles by Pai, comfort is considered at every touchpoint. From the soothing palette to the quiet acoustics and thoughtful lighting, each detail reinforces a sense of ease. The waiting area feels welcoming and residential, while treatment spaces are designed to support both emotional comfort and clinical efficiency.
